IGHTS & MEASURES: <br />Bert Cichowicz, City Sealer, being present, brought to the attention <br />of the Board his departments need for a master laboratory test measure. <br />Funds being found available to provide the required equipment, the Clerk <br />was directed to proceed with its purchase. <br />TRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />Superintendent Ira HuInsbergerts recommendation for the installing <br />of a 1000 lumen light on a 16- foot. -mast arm, at three different locations <br />indicated as 726 N. 31st St., 730 N. 32nd St. and 725 N. 3.3rd St., met <br />with the approval of the Board and was so ordered. <br />The Board concurred in Superintendent Hunsbergerts recommendation <br />with reference to the installation of a street light on Howard Street, <br />between Talbot and Jacob Streets, and accordingly denied the petition <br />submitted by John Hutchinson, dated November 6, 1954. <br />A petition, dated November 11}., 1954, for the installation of a <br />street light at the north end of the 500 block of South 24th Street <br />at the intersection of alley paralleling the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, <br />was examined and referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation <br />and report. - <br />OLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Some discussion was given to the matter of storage space for fifteen <br />r more squad cars of the Police Department for such periods as these <br />ars are in "stand -by ". It was stated that winter weather causes excessive <br />perating maintenance costs for this equipment due to outdoor parking <br />bile not in use. The suggested use of the Goldblatt basement was not <br />eemed feasible. No decision was reached in the matter. <br />The Police Department application of Julian R. Andrysiak. <br />T Board determined to build Fire Station No. 15 at the site owned by <br />t e City at the southwest corner of Ewing and Prairie Avenues. <br />e Board employs Forrest R. West as architect, and E. Don Spinney as <br />a sociate architect to draw plans and specifications to be submitted to the <br />B and as soon as possible. <br />Tae Board next examined a petition, dated November 22, 1954, bearing twenty - <br />six signatures, requesting the installation of a street light at the corner of <br />H lland and N.
