rM <br />September 27, 1954 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday, <br />September 27, 19541 at 10 :00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the previous meeting were read and approved. Duck, who <br />presented quotations from three well known decorating concerns for the <br />exterior painting of Fire Station No. 10. <br />The Board examined the quotations and accepted the recommendation <br />of Fire Chief Duck that the quotation of the Modern Decorating Company, <br />which included the patching of damaged stucco with prime new stucco, <br />was the best offer in the interests of the City. <br />At the specified time in the legal advertising, the-opening of <br />bids was announced and the Board proceeded in this matter, as follows: <br />CARL J. REINKE & SONS <br />1522 W. FORD STREET <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />A non- collusion affidavit <br />properly executed and a <br />certified check for x''275.00 <br />accompanied the bid. <br />All work for the addition to No. 4 Hose House <br />located at Walnut & Thomas Street ...............4365.00 <br />Alternate No. 1 - Sewer Work, add the sum of ... 695.00. <br />TAYLOR CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. Anon- collusion affidavit <br />520 EAST SAMPLE STREET properly executed and a <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. certified check for $265.00 <br />accompanied the bid. <br />Complete construction of addition to Fire Station <br />No. 4, at Thomas and Walnuts Street .............$4996.00 <br />Alternate No. - Add ............................. 469.00,, <br />These bids were taken under advisement. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTP,ENT : <br />Superintendent Ira Hunsberger appeared before the Board with his <br />recommendati n that a p00 1 e fight b in talled on the southwest <br />corner of Je ferson Bl d., an Li e�'ty Shree $ and this was approved by <br />the Board. <br />
