July 26, 1954 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday, <br />July 26, 1954, at -10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes -of the <br />previous meeting were read `a.nd.approved. Duck, was present for the discussion of <br />matters pertaining to his department. - <br />The report of Captain Al Andrzejewski, dated July 10, 1954, covering <br />run made to German Township by Engine Go. No. 11 that date, was examined <br />and ordered filed. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />Superintendent Ira Hunsberger was present and recommended the <br />installation of 4000 lumen lighting at each of the following locations: <br />Southwest corner <br />Southwest corner <br />Northwest corner <br />Northwest corner <br />Northeast corner <br />Northeast corner <br />Northwest corner <br />MacArthur Avenue and Chimes Boulevard <br />Solomon Avenue and Chimes Boulevard <br />Rockne Drive and Chimes Boulevard <br />Ford Street and Floral Place <br />Clearview Place and Floral Place <br />Ford Street and Semple Street <br />Donald Street and Oliver Street <br />These installations were approved and ordered by the Board. <br />A request for 6000 lumen lighting in replacement of 4000 lumen lights <br />was approved by the Board for the two intersections of Sample and Grant <br />Streets, and Sample and Jackson Streets. The Board also approved an <br />increase to a 4000 lumen light, from the present 1000 lumen light <br />located in the 1500 block West Dunham Street. <br />A petition to improve the street lighting on N. Notre Dame Avenue <br />midway between South Bend Avenue and Corby Street was examined and <br />referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report. <br />A petition,bearing forty -seven signatures, requesting installation <br />of a street light midway in the 1200 block of West Colfax Avenue, was <br />referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report. <br />The. June Report of the Police Department was examined and ord.
