A petition bearing ten signatures, under date of May 13, 1954, for <br />improved street lighting at the intersection of Carlisle and Dubail, was <br />referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />eting was adjourned at 11:30 A. M. <br />ttest: <br />Clerk <br />May 2ZL, 1954 <br />Chairman <br />r: <br />Police Chief, Richard J..Gillen, being present, recommended the appoint- <br />or nt of Joseph E. Hecklinski, an employee of Carson Secret Service, <br />I dianapolis, to be a special police officer in and for the City of South <br />B nd. The Board, thereupon, approved and signed the appointment. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, being present, informed the Board of the <br />specific machine selected by Assistant Chief Brown to be <br />purchased <br />of the Fire Department for the removal of roots and obstructionfromor use <br />A. regular meeting of the Board of <br />Public Safety was held Monday, <br />May <br />24, 1954, at 10:00 A. M. All members <br />were present. Minutes of <br />the <br />previous <br />meeting were read and <br />approved. Salary claims in the amount of <br />182,690.85, <br />were approved.
