<br />The request of Captain Clem F. Hazinski for permission to attend 
<br />Marine Corps summer camp at Camp LeJeune, N. C., for a fifteen day 
<br />period, commencing June 26th, was presented to the Board by Chief 
<br />R. J. Gillen. The Board granted its permission. 
<br />The Studebaker Corporationts Invoice No.265051, dated May 4, 1954, 
<br />overing one Champion Regal Station Wagon, color white, with special 
<br />ettering,,tire tax paid, and carrying in the - amount column the word 
<br />'GRATIS ".. was next examined and approved by the Board. 
<br />The Police Department application of Robert J. Lewinski, was 
<br />amined and ordered placed on file. 
<br />TRICAL DEPARTMENT: 
<br />The Board reviewed the petition, dated April 15, 1954, calling 
<br />orinstallation of a street light in the alley at the rear of 528' 
<br />laine Avenue, and sustained the finding of Superintendent Hunsberger, 
<br />ejecting the request for a light at this location as unnecessary. 
<br />A change in lighting arrangement for a distance of three and one - 
<br />h if blocks on Western Avenue, west from Sheridan Avenue, to . ?provide 
<br />better lighting at less cost to the City., as recommended by Superintendent, 
<br />Ira Hunsberger, was approved by the Board. 
<br />Superintendent Hunsberger presented to the Board a drawing of a 
<br />s ecial type of "desk" to be constructed and installed in the Fire Alarm 
<br />a d Signal Station with a view to improving and in some degree modernizing 
<br />the facilities of the station. The Board approved the recommended 
<br />installation and directed Superintendent Hunsberger to proceed accordingly. 
<br />P� Hunsberger also called attention to the fact that the stationts switch- 
<br />board is in a definitely "worn out" condition, and that funds are available' 
<br />for its replacement. The Board authorized Superintendent Hunsberger to 
<br />proceed with such replacement. 
<br />A petition, dated May 1, 1954, calling for the installation of a 
<br />light in the alley between Washington and Holland, at the intersection 
<br />with. -alley between Meade and Klley, was examined and referred to 
<br />S perintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report. 
<br />Fire Department Captaints and Lieutenantts Reports, dated April 8,9, 
<br />and 17th covering grass fire runs into,outlying areas by Engine Cos. 11, 
<br />12,13, and 22, were examined and ordered filed.
