POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Chief of Police, Richard J. Gillen, placed before the Board all <br />papers pertaining to the appointment of John P. Scott, employee of the <br />Vilest Side Merchant Police, as a special police officer in and for the <br />City of South Bend, and recommended the appointment. Appointment, <br />thereupon, was duly signed and sealed. <br />The Police Department application of Gerald A. Kazmierczak was <br />examined and ordered placed on file. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />The recommendation of Supt. Ira Hunsberger for the installation <br />of a 1000 lumen light between Meade Street and Eclipse Place on <br />Prast Boulevard, was approved by the Board. <br />Petition, dated April 28, 1954, for the installation of a street <br />light on Dundee Street, between Washington and Western Avenue, was <br />referred to Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for his investigation and <br />report. <br />Report on radio maintenance costs for the month of March, separated <br />as to transmitters and receivers, was examined and ordered filed. <br />The March 1954 Report of the South Bend Police Department was <br />examined and ordered filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Boated, the <br />meeting was adjourned at 11:25 A.
