Duck, <br />in Fire Department <br />recommend - <br />personnel: <br />Lieutenant John'Borkowski <br />to be promoted to the <br />rank of Captain. <br />Private Al -ex Batcho <br />to <br />be promoted to the rank <br />of Lieutenant. <br />The Board approved the promotions <br />to become effective May 1, 1954, <br />at which time the assingment of <br />these officers will be announced. <br />The Fire Chief, together with the Board, next examined the Warranty <br />Deed covering the Central Fire Station, with a view to discovering <br />whether or not title is without flaw. It was recommended to the Chief <br />that he check with the Abstret Company for further evidence that the City <br />has a clear title <br />The Fire Department.applications of Kenneth A. Burke and Richard G. <br />Brown were examined and ordered filed. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Chief of Police, Richard J. Gillen, being present, informed the ' <br />Board concerning system in effect in certain other Indiana municipalities <br />with respect to the policing of parking violations. <br />The Police Department applications of the following three applicants <br />were examined and ordered placed on file: <br />Richard G. Brown <br />Robert E. Jankowski <br />Richard L. Toth <br />Notice from the City Clerk, setting forth a motion made in recent <br />meeting of the Common Council, by Councilman Musczynski, was examined by <br />the Board and referred to Chief of Police Gillen for the required action. <br />
