April 19, 1954 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday, <br />April 19, 1954, at 10 :00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />previous meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of <br />$81,769.22 were approved. Duck, was present and placed with the Board <br />complete report of accident which occurred at Lincolnway East and Twyckenham <br />Drive, involving Fire Department Engine No. 21 on April 18th. Report <br />was examined and ordered filed. <br />Fire Department applications of the following applicants were examined <br />and ordered placed on file: <br />Willie J. Benman John Lawrence Gaska <br />Donald Noel Gray,Jr. George Medich <br />Vernon H. Ringler Frank S. Strzelecki <br />Fire Department Injury Reports for the months of February and March <br />were examined and ordered filed. <br />Captaints and Lieutenant's Daily Reports covering runs into outlying <br />area made by Engine Cos. Nos. 11, 12 and 22, during the period from <br />March 26th to April 4th inclusive, were examined and ordered filed. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Chief of Police, Richard J. Gillen, was present and brought to the <br />Board's attention, the Police Department's need for a transmitter and <br />receiver set, now obtainable at an advantageous price. Funds being <br />available for this equipment, the Board, thereupon authorized the purchase <br />and approved the release of the pending purchase order No. BW4367. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />eting adjourned at 11 :35 A.
