FIRE DEPARTMENT: Urgent need for a gas density metering device was discussed and the Clerk was directed to procure this equipment with the least possible delay. The Fire Department application of Robert L. Mitchell, was examined and ordered placed on file. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: The recommendations of Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for the improvement of street lighting at the intersections of Belmont Avenue and Greenlawn Avenue, and Greenlawn Avenue and Southwood, were approved by the Board. The recommendations of Superintendent Hunsberger for the improve- ment of street lighting at the intersections of Wall Street and Green - lawn Avenue, and Hoover Avenue and Greenlawn Avenue, were approved by the Board. A petition, dated September 18, 1953, for a street light to be installed at the intersection of East Edison Road and Rosemary Lane, was referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report. A petition, dated September 17, 1953, for improved lighting on Kenwood Avenue, from Kenwood to Kaley; and a light to be installed at the intersection of Meade and Kenwood, was referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report. The urgent need for replacement doors at the Fire Alarm and Signal Station was reported by Superintendent Hunsberger. Funds being available, and quotations on the required type of doors, submitted by Sumner B. Shimp, being considered reasonable,-the Clerk was directed to proceed with this purchase. Discussion was given to the need of a blower, operated by gaso- line motor, together with several sections of 6 -inch canvas hose, by the Electrical Department. The Board suggested; that quotations' be obtained from three or four sources, and the matter can then be given proper consideration. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 12 :00 o'clock noon Chairman Attest: Clerk
