FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />Urgent need for a gas density metering device was discussed and the <br />Clerk was directed to procure this equipment with the least possible <br />delay. <br />The Fire Department application of Robert L. Mitchell, was examined <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />The recommendations of Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for the <br />improvement of street lighting at the intersections of Belmont Avenue <br />and Greenlawn Avenue, and Greenlawn Avenue and Southwood, were approved <br />by the Board. <br />The recommendations of Superintendent Hunsberger for the improve- <br />ment of street lighting at the intersections of Wall Street and Green - <br />lawn Avenue, and Hoover Avenue and Greenlawn Avenue, were approved by <br />the Board. <br />A petition, dated September 18, 1953, for a street light to be <br />installed at the intersection of East Edison Road and Rosemary Lane, <br />was referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report. <br />A petition, dated September 17, 1953, for improved lighting on <br />Kenwood Avenue, from Kenwood to Kaley; and a light to be installed at <br />the intersection of Meade and Kenwood, was referred to Superintendent <br />Hunsberger for investigation and report. <br />The urgent need for replacement doors at the Fire Alarm and Signal <br />Station was reported by Superintendent Hunsberger. Funds being available, <br />and quotations on the required type of doors, submitted by Sumner B. <br />Shimp, being considered reasonable,-the Clerk was directed to proceed with <br />this purchase. <br />Discussion was given to the need of a blower, operated by gaso- <br />line motor, together with several sections of 6 -inch canvas hose, <br />by the Electrical Department. The Board suggested; that quotations' <br />be obtained from three or four sources, and the matter can then be <br />given proper consideration. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />meeting adjourned at 12 :00 o'clock noon <br />Chairman <br />Attest: <br />Clerk <br />
