U <br />South Bend Supply Co. <br />_ $4.35 <br />South Bend Supply Co.. <br />$1.00 <br />Studebaker Corporation <br />2.82 <br />Superior American Fire Alarm 25.49 <br />Super Par Auto Laundry <br />140.00 <br />Western Union Telegraph <br />15.29 <br />Harry Verkler <br />2278.00 <br />Wyman's <br />47.47 <br />A letter,addressed to <br />the City <br />Engineer, received from the South Bend <br />Tool ,& Die Company, pertaining <br />to the installing of a 10,000 <br />gallon tank, <br />was read and referred by the Board <br />to Fire Chief, Richard J. <br />Duck for <br />investigation by his Fire <br />Inspector <br />and report. <br />ECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />The recommendation of Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for the installation <br />of, 4000 lumen lights at the intersection of Whitcomb Avenue_ and Klinger <br />Street, and on Whitcomb Avenue, between Jennings and Klinger, was approved <br />by the Board. <br />Superintendent Hunsberger's recommendation for-the installation of <br />a 4000 lumen light on Frederickson Street, at the crest property line of <br />3029 Frederickson, was approved by the,Board. <br />IRE DEPARTMENT: <br />Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, being present, asking permission of <br />the Board to send Battalion Chief Anthony Miller, and Lieutenant Paul <br />Flary to the annual Instructorts Conference at Indianapolis April 14, 15, <br />and 16. Permission was granted. <br />The Fire.Department Injuries Report for the month of March was <br />xamined and ordered filed. <br />Reports of two runs made by Engine Company No. 21 in outlying <br />territory (Portage Township) on April 2nd and April 3rd were received <br />and ordered filed. <br />POLICE DEPARTIVENT: <br />Police Department application of Paul L. Locsi was examined by the <br />Board. It was noted that Mr. Locsi is unqualified at the present time, <br />due to overweight. Chief Gillen, being present, stated that in his <br />opinion, applicantts weight can be reduced sufficiently, within a short <br />period of time, to enable him to qualify. Application was ordered placed <br />on file <br />Chief Gillen next presented the resignation of a recent appointee, <br />E. Marshall. The Board accepted the resignation. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />eeing adjourned at 11 :15 A.
