ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />Ira Hunsberger, Superintendent, being present, recommended to the <br />Board, the installation of a 2500 lumen light at 212 North Elm Street, <br />near the entrance to the City Cemetery. Recommendation was approved. <br />Petitions for improved lighting at the following locations, were <br />examined by the Board and referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for <br />investigation and report: <br />Lawrence Street at the alley between Howard Street and <br />Corby Boulevard <br />Studebaker Street between Liston Street and Washington <br />Avenue . <br />East and west alley in the 1000 block west Colfax Avenue <br />between, Colfax and LaSalle Avenue <br />Alley in the 300 block South Chapin Street, extending <br />from Chapin to Pine Street. <br />The Board next examined report of insubordination on the part of <br />Police Officer Thomas B. Grant, and -asked the Chief of Police to bring <br />the suspended officer before the Board. Officer Grant and Sgt. Robert <br />L. Seals, representing the Police Pension Board, then appeared before <br />the Board. Officer Grant acknowledged receiving letter stating the <br />charges lodged against him. When asked by the chairman of the Board <br />if he realized he had violated Rule -8, Officer Grant replied that he <br />would prefer to request a hearing for a later date. Agreement was <br />reached to hold such hearing at 11 :00 A. M. Friday, April 10th. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />adjourned at 11 :40 A. M. <br />chairman <br />Attest: <br />Clerk <br />April 13, 1953 <br />A regular meeting of ..the Board of Public Safety was held Monday, <br />April 13, 1953 at 10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />reviuus meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of <br />74,179-31 were approved.
