September 7, 2010 <br />Council Member Timothy Rouse, Chairperson <br />Community & Economic Development Committee <br />South Bend Common Council <br />4th Floor, County City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />RE: Personal Property Tax Abatement Petition for: <br />STEEL WAREHOUSE COMPANY, LLC and AFFILIATES and EQUIPMENT LESSORS <br />(2722 W. TUCKER DRIVE) <br />Dear Council Member Rouse: <br />Please find attached the Department of Community & Economic Development's report on a tax <br />abatement petition for the above-referenced petitioner. Also attached are copies of the petition, Statement of <br />Benefits forms, and supporting information. The project calls for the acquisition and installation of new <br />equipment as part of the company's planned increase in productive capacity in its facilities located at the <br />above listed address. <br />The report contains the Department's findings relative to the above petition. Steel Warehouse, LLC <br />will be purchasing and installing new equipment at the above location. The total cost of the project for the <br />equipment is estimated at $1,000,000 to $2,500,000. The project meets the qualifications for afive-year (5) <br />personal property tax abatement.
