1
t ~ ~r J PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE
APRIL 26, 2010
Tom LaFountain, Chairperson, Personnel and Finance Committee called the meeting to
order at 4:30 p.m.
Committee Members Present: Oliver Davis, David Varner, Karen White
Other Council Present: Derek Dieter, Ann Puzzello, Timothy Rouse, Henry Davis, Al
"Buddy" Kirsits
Others Present: Mayor Luecke, Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Rita Kopala, Gary Gilot,
Gregg Zientara
Agenda: BILL NO. 10-19 APPOINTING AN AGENT/NEGOTIATOR FOR THE
COUNCIL FOR 2010
Chairperson LaFountain outlined past procedure as follows:
Las year the Council successfully implemented a team of two (2) Council Members for
police negotiations and a separate team of two (2) Council Members for fire negotiations.
This concept was received positively and I would anticipate a similar approach this year,
with the addition of a team of volunteer Council Members for Teamster negotiations. All
such Council Members would work closely with the Council's Agent and Chief
Negotiator, and in turn with the individuals chosen by the City Administration for each
team.
Council President Dieter recommended Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand
represent the Council in Police and Fire Negotiations. Councilmember Oliver Davis
recommended that Bill No. 10-19 go to Council favorably. Councilmember Varner
seconded the motion which carried.
There being no other business, Chairperson LaFountain adjourned the meeting at 4:35
p.m.
Tom LaFountain, Chairperson
Personnel and Finance Committee
