4. Wire that feeds the East Race lighting has been stolen and will be replaced with a system <br />that is not as accessible. <br />5. An architect has been studying the Greenhouse and Conservatory to explore taking down <br />the existing growing houses, adding parking and other amenities and upgrading the heating <br />system. It is estimated that about $1M would be needed to do the improvements. A Build <br />America Grant is being investigated with the help of Economic Development. <br />6. Teamster negotiations are underway. A three year contract is being pursued. A general <br />contact for the term and negotiating each year’s wage rates is being contemplated. <br />7. Director St. Clair is meeting with church leaders next week to discuss a program that <br />would assist the Park Department. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII.Comments by the Recreation Director <br /> <br />1. Ms. O'Connor introduced Mr. McMinn who requested the Board approve a request to <br />advertise for the purchase of ten treadmill for the Fitness Center as well as fourteen <br />treadmills for the Fire Department. <br /> Dr. Kelly made a motion to grant the request and Mr. Mullins seconded motion. The <br />motion was passed. <br />2. Ms. O'Connor reported that fourteen lunch sites are operating. An average of 30-70 kids is <br />being served daily. At the Martin Luther King site it averages 130-150 per day. <br /> All the summer programs are underway. <br /> <br /> <br />IX.Comments by the Golf Operations Director <br />1. Mr. Nowacki reported that there were 10 days of rain in May and 14 in June. <br />2. Only four trees were lost during the recent storms. <br />3. The parking lot at Erskine was recently repaved and he thanked the Street Department for <br />their efforts. <br />4. The Men’s and Women’s Metro tournaments will be held in July. <br /> <br />5. The annual Superintendent’s Golf Outing will be held on August 6. <br /> <br /> <br />X.Comments by Maintenance Superintendent <br /> <br />1. Mr. Dyszkiewicz recommended the Chris Wilson Pavilion project be awarded to Kaser- <br />Spraker in the amount of $38,350. <br /> Dr. Kelly made a motion to award the project to Kaser-Spraker. Mr. Mullins seconded <br />the motion and it was passed. <br />2. He reported on storm damage. The City Cemetery sustained the most damage. <br />3. The Central Mowing crew is caught up, but park mowing is a little behind. <br />4. Tennis court resurfacing is underway. <br />5. The splash pads are up and running. <br />6.
