Airport Economic Development Area

5. continued…

construction of those improvements. Mr.
Schalliol distributed design drawings of all of
those elements. One of the key pieces is
design of the Oliver Park Memorial area. He
distributed separately a proposal for the
bronze sculpture of James Oliver and his
plow. The proposal is from Tuc Langland in
the amount of $135,000. He asked for
approval of the proposal for the sculpture,
subject to Legal counsel working through the
specific elements of the contract. We’d like
to have most of the improvements done in
2010; however, the sculpture will take
thirteen months to complete.

Mr. Gibney noted that Tuc Langland is a
notable artist in this community. His work is
placed all over the country. A sculpture of
his would raise the importance of the
memorial.
