~ ~ :~ <br />z° 1 , <br />`'' '~ ` PARC COMMITTEE (Parks, Recreation, Cultural Arts 8~ Entertainment) <br />June 28, 2010 <br />The June 28, 2010 meeting of the PARC Committee of the South Bend Common Council was <br />called to order by its Chairperson Councilmember Puzzello at 5:00 p.m., in the Informal Meeting <br />Room, 4th Floor County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Indiana. <br />Committee Members Present: Ann Puzzello, Chairperson; Timothy Rouse, Vice- <br />Chairperson; Oliver Davis; AI "Buddy" Kirsits <br />Other Council Members Present: Derek Dieter; Karen L. White; David Varner; Henry <br />Davis, Jr. <br />Others Present: Dennis Andres, Gary Gilot, Mayor Luecke, Rita Kopala, <br />Tom Price, Marty Wolfson, Jeff Parrott Aladean DeRose, <br />Don Inks, Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Beth Leonard <br />Agenda: Bill No. 28-10 -Appropriation State Grant for Kroc <br />Endowment <br />Bill No. 31-10 Appropriation Palais <br />Bill No. 28-10 Appropriation from Fund 210 <br />Chairperson Puzzello acknowledging full committee presence recognized the Mayor to make the <br />presentation. Mayor Luecke announced the receipt of a $2,000,000 grant from the state to help <br />with the construction of the Kroc Center. The money would be used for an operating endowment <br />match for the facility. The Mayor said the money was to be appropriated in the amount of <br />$500,000 every 6 mos. For the next two years. Council Attorney Farrand pointed to a scriber's <br />error in the bill misstating the dollar amount. Councilmember Rouse moved the bill go to Council <br />as amended. Councilmember Kirsits followed with a second. All agreed. <br />Bill No. 31-10 Appropriation for the Palais Royale <br />Dennis Andres, Director of the Morris explained the request~of $8,000 to repair water damage. No <br />questions. Councilmember Rouse moved.
