SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST 18, 2010 66 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the Public Agenda Session at 8:16 a.m. on Wednesday, August <br />18, 2010 with Board President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick D. Cottrell, Bruce <br />BonDurant, Eddie Miller and Laura Vasquez present. Also present were Fire Chief Howard <br />Buchanon and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13"' Floor County City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Board members discussed the following items from that list: <br />APPROVE HEARING DATE AND EXCHANGE OF WITNESSES EXHIBITS AND FILING OF <br />MOTIONS DEADLINES FOR CHARGES 2010 -05 — FIREFIGHTER JORDAN JOSTES <br />Attorney Thomas Bodnar stated charges had been filed and served on Firefighter Jordan Jostes, and <br />an e- mailed letter was received by the Clerk on August 11, 2010, from Mr. Jostes, requesting a <br />hearing. Mr. Bodnar informed those present that the Statute governing the setting of hearings gives <br />tight time restrictions, allowing fourteen (14) days for notice of hearing and no more than thirty (30) <br />days after the request for a hearing. Mr. Bodnar stated that gives a time frame of September 1, 2010 <br />through September 18, 2010 for the hearing to be held, The Board agreed to meet on September 2, <br />2010 at 9:00 a.m. for an executive session and at 9:30 a.m. for the hearing. Upon a motion by Mr. <br />BonDurant, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, the motion, as outlined by Mr. Bodnar, was <br />approved.
