~~ <br />~- <br />~~~ <br />`~`' ~ ~ / <br />C~ <br />PUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY VACATION COMMITTEE <br />07-26-10 <br />Chairperson David Varner, called the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br />meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />Committee Members Present: David Varner, Tim Rouse, Tom LaFountain, <br />Other Councilmember's Present: Derek Dieter, Ann Puzzello, Oliver Davis, <br />Karen White, Al "Buddy" Kirsits <br />Other's Present: Mike Danch, Gary Gilot, Rita Kopala, Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand <br />Agenda: Bill No. 37-10 -Alley Vacation Napoleon & Duey Street <br />(Site Plan Attached) <br />David Varner opened the meeting acknowledging those committee members present <br />constituting a quorum. At Varner's request Mike Danch of Danch Harner & Associates <br />proceeded to present Bill No. 37-10. Mr. Danch explained he was representing both <br />Notre Dame and the City of South Bend in a request to vacate an alley in the residential <br />area of the new Eddy Commons. This is to allow re-configuration of lots along Duey <br />creating up to three building sites. In response to Karen White's question Danch noted <br />their was no opposition at earlier hearings and access to other houses would not be <br />compromised . Council President Dieter asked if Notre Dame would be liable for any <br />taxes on the vacated property Danch said they would. Councilmember Varner added for <br />the record the favorable recommendation forwarded from the Board of Public Works. <br />Chairperson Varner then accepted a motion from Councilmember Rouse to send <br />favorable. Councilmember LaFountain seconded and all affirmed. <br />There being no further business to come before the committee at this time, Chairperson <br />Varner adjourned the meeting at 4:05 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />~~ ~~ <br />David Varner, Chairperson <br />Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br />
