KENDALL <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br />May 4, 2006 <br />South Bend' Common Council <br />4`h Floor, County City Building <br />227 West Jefferson <br />South Bend,-IN 46601 - - <br />Dear Common Council Members: <br />Enclosed is an Ordinance appropriating $247,500 of grant funds from the United States <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development Economic Development Initiative program. <br />These funds will be used to implement the Studebaker/Oliver Redevelopment Strategy <br />previously adopted by the Common Council. <br />These grants have been received for the Studebaker/Oliver Redevelopment Project in the past, <br />and are federal special project grants that are awarded by Congress before the formal application <br />documents are submitted. <br />I have also submitted to the Council a Submission Resolution for these funds for approval in <br />conjunction with this Ordinance. I trust that this Ordinance can be heard by the Council <br />following the reading and approval of the Submission Resolution. <br />I respectfully request your approval of this Ordinance.
