Upon a motion made by Mr. Alford, seconded by Ms. Dempsey and carried, the <br />promotions were accepted and approved. <br />RECOGNITION OF 2005 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH AWARDS <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz recognized the Employees of the Month for 2005. There <br />being no further discussion in this matter, the Employee of the Month Awards were accepted and <br />filed. <br />ACCEPT DONATIONS TO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz stated that an auction was held on behalf of the <br />Safetyville Miniature Village. As a result, generous donations were made to the South Bend Police <br />Department by Mr. Ross Elias in the amount of $3,600.00 and Antique Motors, Inc., in the amount <br />of $200.00. In addition, the Granger Missionary Church and Kroger made donations of gifts and <br />assorted items for children, including "Kinderprint" fingerprint cards, which will be distributed at <br />health and safety fairs and in classrooms, as well as individual requests. There being no further <br />discussion, the donations were accepted. <br />DECISION ON PETITION -RONALD JOHNSON <br />President Jesusa Rodriguez stated Mr. Ronald Johnson, by counsel, and pursuant to IC 36-8-3-4(n) <br />requested the Board of Public Safety to award him back pay. The Board, having heard evidence, <br />including the exhibits introduced by the parties and the arguments of Counsel. After due and <br />considered deliberation, it is the unanimous decision of the Board of Safety that the petition of <br />Officer Ronald Johnson for back pay be denied. <br />FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT -SEPTEMBER 2005 <br />President Rodriguez indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the <br />Board, the statistical report for the month of September 2005 as submitted by the Police Department. <br />would be accepted for filing.
