July 6, 2010 <br />Department of Community & <br />Economic Development <br />City of South Bend <br />227 West Jefferson Blvd., Suite 1200S <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />Attention: Bill Schalliol <br />RE: PROPOSAL FOR TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY SERVICES FOR GATES BLOCK IN <br />NW INTERSECTION OF WESTERN AND LAFAYETTE, SOUTH BEND, IN <br />Dear Bill <br />Thank you for the opportunity to present our proposal for surveying for the above referenced project. <br />We have appreciated being able to be of service to you in the past and hope that we can assist you <br />with this project. <br />We have reviewed the project scope and offer the following proposal. <br />Topographic survey shall include the following: <br />• Vertical datum for this project will be tied to a known datum. <br />• Site limits for the topographic survey will be to the West side of Williams Street, the South <br />side of Western Avenue, the east side of Lafayette Blvd. and the North side of Wayne Street. <br />• This survey will be supplied on the same datum as the Housing Block project prepared by <br />Wightman Petrie, Inc. <br />Limitations: <br />• Invert measurements made on storm and sanitary structures will be made from above ground <br />only, utilizing methods that do not require confined space entry apparatus, such as ventilation <br />and extraction equipment. <br />• Utility lines will be shown based on field evidence located during our field survey and per <br />plans and marking provided by the owner, utility companies, or their representatives.
