s <br />k-_~~.~ <br />SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 30. 2005 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was convened at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, <br />2005, at the Central Fire Station, 1222 South Michigan, South Bend, Indiana, by Board President <br />Jesusa Rodriguez, with Board Members Donald Alford and Juanita Dempsey present. Board <br />Member Wesley Taylor was not present. Also present was Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />SWEARING IN OF FIREFIGHTERS <br />- KEVIN BROWN <br />-JOHN COMEAU , <br />- STEVEN DOWNEY <br />-DOUG HYLKEMA <br />- SHANNON PETERSON <br />-MICHAEL QUIROZ <br />- JOHN SZUCS <br />- MICHAEL SZUCS <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor recommended the Board to hire the above referred <br />to applicants as probationary Firefighters. These applicants are recommended for hire from the <br />2004-2005 hiring list and have successfully completed a twenty (20) week recruit school and are <br />ready to be sworn in. Chief Taylor recommended the hiring be effective June 30, 2005. <br />Mr. John Voorde, City Clerk, administered the Oath of Office to these individuals, and along with <br />the Mayor Steve Luecke and the Board, wished them the best in their endeavors with the South Bend <br />Fire Department.
