South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -June 4, 2010
Existing local businesses want to be part of
this new economy. Ms. Hathaway feels that
the initial businesses for Ignition Park may
be local businesses. That's why she feels we
need a business asset inventory-understand-
ing the depth and breadth of our local
businesses. What processes do they already
do that might be an outsource for an upstart
company. We need to do that for all
industries that we think have the potential for
contributing to innovation and technology.
Mr. Downes asked what the Commission's
next immediate steps should be, in the next
four to six months. Ms. Hathaway said she is
going to meet with someone soon who
builds, owns and manages technology sites.
Would they be interested in doing something
here. If not, why not?
Ms. Hathaway invited the Commissioners to
meet with her individually or in pairs to
discuss any of her ideas further.
(6) Ratification of Lease for office space in
Innovation Park @ Notre Dame
(Hathaway2)
Mr. Inks noted that it took our legal
department awhile to work through the lease
arrangements for Ms. Hathaway to have an
office at Innovation Park. This was called
for in the contract with Hathaway2, Inc. The
budget for it was $9,000. The lease is within
the budget.
Upon a motion by Ms. King, seconded by
Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the
Commission ratified the Lease for office
space in Innovation Park @ Notre Dame
(Hathaway2)
COMMISSION RATIFIED THE LEASE FOR OFFICE
SPACE IN INNOVATION PARK C~ NOTRE DAME
(HATHAWAY2~
17
