<br />POLICE SELECTION PANEL
<br />The Police Selection Panel met at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2005, in the Mayor's Conference
<br />Room, 14`" Floor, County-City Building,. for the purpose of formulating a recommendation to be
<br />made to the Board of Public Safety. Present were Police Chief Thomas Fautz, President Jesusa
<br />,Rodriguez and Assistant City Attorney Ann Carol Nash. The meeting adjourned at 8:27 a.m.
<br />' The Board of Public Safety met in aSpecial Meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Apri128, 2005 with
<br />President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Wesley Taylor, Juanita Dempsey and Donald
<br />Alford present. Also present were Police Chief Thomas H. Fautz. Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar
<br />was not present. Assistant City Attorney Ann-Carol Nash was present. Fire Chief Luther Taylor was
<br />not present.
<br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13`" Floor, County City
<br />Building, South Bend, Indiana.

<br />Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that the above listed individuals be accepted for
<br />employment on a probationary basis with the South Bend Police Department effective April 28,
<br />2005. They have met the requirements of the application proce4ss of the South Bend Police
<br />Department. Larry Sanchez, Tyler Jackey, Christopher Brady, Paul Strabavy and Jonathon Gray will
<br />' be attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, Indiana from May 9, 2005 through
<br />August 28, 2005. Jason Biggs is already certified in the State of Indiana and will begin the Field
<br />Training Officer Program with the South Bend Police Department. Upon a motion made by Ms.
<br />Dempsey, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />Mr. John Voorde, City Clerk, was present, and administered the Oath of Office to these individuals.
<br />The Board wished them well in their endeavors with the South Bend Police Department.
<br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 29-2005 - ADOPTING A WRITTEN FISCAL PLAN AND
<br />"ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES TO AN ANNEXATION
<br />AREA IN GERMAN TOWNSHIP (JO ANN NUCCI ANNEXATION AREA)
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Alford and carried, the following Resolution
<br />was adopted by the Board of Public Safety:
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 29-2005
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE CITY OF
<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ADOPTING A WRITTEN FISCAL PLAN AND ESTABLISHING
<br />A POLICY FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES TO AN ANNEXATION AREA IN
<br />GERMAN TOWNSHIP
<br />(JO ANN NUCCI ANNEXATION AREA)
<br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, an Ordinance and a petition by all (100%) property owners which proposes the annexation
<br />,of real estate located in German Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, which is described more
<br />particularly at Table 2 on page 14 of Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein; and
<br />WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed encompasses approximately 2.11
<br />acres of land on which is situated one single family residence, which property is at least 12.5%
<br />contiguous to the current City limits, i.e., approximately 57% contiguous, generally located on the
<br />east side of Portage Road, approximately 500 feet north of Appaloosa Lane, German Township,
<br />Indiana. It is anticipated that upon annexation and Common Council approval, the zoning will be
