9 ~~`~~~~ <br />PUBLIC AGENDA SESSION APRIL 20, 2005 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the Public Agenda Session at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Apri120, <br />2005 with President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Wesley Taylor, Juanita Dempsey and <br />Donald Alford present. Also present were Police Chief Thomas H. Fautz, Fire Chief Luther Taylor <br />`and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13`h Floor, County City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />-Minutes <br />Mr. Bodnar stated the minutes had been reviewed. <br />- Resolution No. 25- 2005 -Fiscal Plan/Services for an Annexation Area- Waggoner's Dairy Farm <br />Mr. Larry Magliozzi, Community and Economic Development, submitted an amended page <br />7 and 12 for this Fiscal Plan, pertaining to Fire Department services. <br />- Requests for Promotion -Police Department <br />Chief Fautz stated these are promotions for patrolmen in good standing for three years with <br />the South Bend Police Department. <br />- Requests for Retirements -Police Department <br />Mr. Bodnar explained these individuals are retiring in good standing. <br />- Request for Resignation -Police Department <br />Mr. Bodnar explained this individual is seeking a different job opportunity. <br />- Finding of Fact -Charge OS-02 -Police Department <br />Mr. Bodnar stated this document should have been prepared in January of 2005. <br />- Resolution No. 27-2005 -Agreement of Jurisdiction with Indiana University at South Bend - <br />Police Department <br />Mr. Bodnar explained. the Resolution ratifies the Agreement of Jurisdiction with Indiana <br />University (IUSB). The IUSB security personnel complete the same training as South Bend <br />Police Department officers, and they can assist the Police Department if required. <br />- Monthly Statistics -March 2004 -Police Department <br />' Chief Fautz stated statistics have dropped. <br />- Request for Resignation -Fire Department <br />Mr. Bodnar explained this individual is seeking a different job opportunity. <br />- Donations to South Bend Fire Department <br />Mr. Bodnar stated all donations are recorded in Board of Public Safety minutes. <br />- Resolution No. 28-2005 -Amendment to Hiring Policy -Fire Department <br />Mr. Bodnar explained this amendment allows for the re-hiring of former members of the Fire <br />Department, and states the criteria for re-hire. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, President Rodriguez declared the meeting <br />adjourned at 8:31 a.m. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Rodriguez, President <br />Don <br />Wesley <br />Juanita Dempsey, Member <br />
