SPECIAL MEETING MAY 3, 2010 34 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in a Special Meeting at 8:18 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010, with <br />Board Members Patrick Cottrell, Bruce BonDurant and Eddie Miller present. Board President <br />Juanita Demsey and Board Member Laura Vasquez were absent. Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar <br />was also present. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13`h Floor County City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Addition to the Agenda <br />Mr. Cottrell noted the addition of a donation to the Police Department to the agenda. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />APPROVE FINDINGS OF FACT — CHARGE 2010 -01 — NICHOLAS MCKINLEY <br />In a previous Board of Public Safety meeting of April 28, 2010, the Board found that for his actions, <br />Patrolman Nicholas McKinley shall be suspended without pay for thirty (30) consecutive calendar <br />days without pay. Upon a motion by Mr. BonDurant, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, the <br />Findings of Fact were approved and signed. <br />ACCEPT AND FILE DONATION TO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Boykins, Police Department, advised the Board of a generous donation <br />made to the South Bend Police Department Youth Tennis Program. The donation of three hundred, <br />seventy -five dollars ($375.00) was given by the United States Tennis Association. There being no <br />further discussion, the donation was accepted and filed. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Cottrell declared the meeting <br />adjourned at 8:20 a.m. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Juanita Dempsey, President <br />Patrick D.
