i ~ i ~4:y <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 9.2005 <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />President Rodriguez advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the minutes <br />of the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on <br />February 16, 2005 would be accepted. There were no objections by members and the minutes were <br />accepted. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR RETIREMENT -JIM HASSIG <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Thomas Fautz submitted the Application for Retirement for <br />Division Chief James Hassig, and recommended approval. Chief Hassig is retiring in good standing <br />from the Police Department, effective March 18, 2005. He was with the Department for twenty (20 <br />years, five (5) months and nine (9) days. The Board wished him well in his new endeavor, and <br />thanked him for his many years of service with the South Bend Police Department. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Alford, seconded by Mr. Taylor and seconded, the Request for Retirement was <br />approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR RETIREMENT -JOSEPH MARKOVICH <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Thomas Fautz submitted the Application for Retirement for <br />Captain Joseph Markovich, and recommended approval. Captain Markovich is retiring in good <br />standing from the Police Department, effective February 21, 2005. He was with the Department for <br />thirty-nine (39) years, ten (10) months and sixteen (16) days. The Board wished him well in his new <br />endeavor, and thanked him for his many years of service with the South Bend Police Department. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Alford, seconded by Mr. Taylor and seconded, the Request for <br />Retirement was approved. <br />ACCEPT AND FILE F.O.P. GRIEVANCE - CORPORALMICHAEL INGLE <br />A Grievance was submitted by F.O.P. President Scot Ruszkowski on behalf of Corporal Michael <br />Ingle. The Board set a special meeting for March 16, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. to set the hearing in this <br />matter. Upon a motion made by Mr. Alford, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the Grievance was <br />accepted and filed. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE REQUEST FOR DEMOTION -SERGEANT JOHN CIESIOLKA <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Thomas Fautz requested the Board to honor a request for <br />demotion to Corporal, for Sergeant John Ciesiolka. He has requested this demotion to Corporal for <br />personal reasons. Upon a motion made by Mr. Alford, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the <br />request for demotion was approved. <br />FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT -FEBRUARY 2005 <br />President Rodriguez indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the <br />Board, the statistical report for the month of February 2005, as submitted by the Police Department, <br />would be accepted for filing.
