Councilmember Attendance <br />2. Release of Information <br />ATTENDANCE <br />Council President Derek Dieter serving as chair of the Council Rules committee urged <br />Councilmember's to make an extra effort to attend scheduled meetings. Of late an <br />inordinate number of committees have been unable to make recommendations to full <br />Council for lack of a quorum. Councilmember Rouse asked for clarification. Did the <br />President mean committee quorums or Committee of Whole attendance? Derek <br />explained he was referring more to separate committee meetings, Rouse felt work <br />schedule conflicts precluded some Councilmember's from being at some meetings. <br />Dieter simply asked everyone to be mindful of attendance urging a call to the Clerk's <br />Office when a conflict arises.. Varner speculated that later meeting start times would be <br />better. Dieter suggested meeting in the County-City Building start no earlier than 4:00. <br />Off-site no earlier than 5:00. He also suggested scheduling committee meetings on the 1St <br />and 3ra Mondays of the month. <br />RELEASE OF INFORMATION <br />President Dieter reminded all Councilmember's to adhere to the confidentiality rule as it <br />pertained to executive sessions or political caucus meetings. Of late, there have been <br />leaks of information to the media that were supposed to be kept in confidence. <br />Following brief conversation and nothing further to come before the Committee at this <br />time, President Dieter adjourned the meeting at 3:33 p.m. <br />Res ectfully btn ted, <br />Derek D.
