Airport Economic Development Area <br /> <br />(2) continued… <br /> <br />Since this building is where many of the <br />members’ vehicles were designed and <br />engineered, while some even had family <br />members working there, they view this <br />building as almost spiritual. They are very <br />excited about this possibility, and plan to put <br />up signs at important areas and to have <br />experts on the history of the building give <br />talks as members take the tour. <br /> <br />Because the tours would be given on a <br />Friday, the Club expects that to limit the <br />number who could tour the building, but they <br />expect as many as 100 to tour. The Club will <br />post rules of conduct that will include items <br />such as: staying with the group, no <br />scavenging, etc. <br /> <br />Mr. Meteiver noted that as the final <br />paperwork was being drawn up for the use of <br />the Studebaker Engineering Building, the <br />Drivers’ Club had issues with the insurance <br />requirement. The Drivers’ Club’s insurance <br />is through their national organization. They <br />have $1,000,000 per occurrence. State <br />statute now requires that the city require a <br />maximum of $5M total insurance and <br />$700,000 per individual. The Club claims it <br />has no money to pay for an additional rider at <br />the level the city requires. They were not <br />willing to even find out how much it would <br />cost to add $5M of insurance on that one day <br />because they were not willing to charge their <br />members a proportionate share. <br /> <br />Ms. King recommended the Commission not <br /> 20 <br /> <br />
