663 <br />Hoard met in regular session st.9:00 A.M. All members present. <br />- Mayor Seabirt and Philip Bandurant apppiiser present. <br />Bids were received opened and read for the paving of Cherry Street <br />from Jefferson St. to.intersection of New York Central.RailRoad Co. . <br />Bids were submitted by Homan & RoachtWilliston Constr. Co. H. W, <br />Reed & Sons. Constr. Co, The Albert Constr. Co. H. N. Barnes, W. J. Ness Co. Rieth-Riley <br />Constr. Co. All bids were referred to the City Engineer for tabulation to be reported <br />on Wednesday May 27th., 1925 at,-7:15 P.M, ( See files for copies of original bids.) <br />Atty. John Yeagley with Mrs. Isabelle Miller, Mrs. White and Mr. White <br />appeared and discussed written remonstrance filed under date of April 4th. 1925 against <br />amount of damages allowed -on the property taken for the proposed Opening of William St.' <br />After discussing remonstrance not agreement signed. <br />Atty. John•Yeagley with Mr. Paxton and Howard Hayden owners of property <br />%ken for the opening of proposed William Street appeared in re to remonstrance filed <br />under date of April 14th., 1925 against the. amount, of damages allowed. After discussing <br />remonstrance noagreement signed. - <br />Fred W. Keller with Wm. Qualls Supt-of Lights appeared and took up <br />m%tter.of placing Boulevard lights in Sunnymede•Addition. This matter deferred until <br />a later date. <br />Petitions were filed as follows: - <br />Property owners on Cherry Street between Jefferson Street to the New <br />York Central R. R. Soi requesting preliminary order for type of pavement to bemtaade with <br />Brick with asphalt filler. Same filed. <br />Sewer on Morris Street from Prairie Avenue to Ewing Avenue. Resolution <br />ordered. <br />Sidewalk and curb an Fremont Street from Bulla Street to Keller St. <br />Resolution ordered. Waiver approved waiving advertising, and hearing. <br />City Attorney to be requested to serve notice on parties obstructing <br />Sample Street between Lafayette Street and the South Bend City Addition where said <br />Sample Street, was widened, to vacate the same. <br />The petition filed heretofore for thegrading of -,North College Street <br />from Elwood Avenue to.Keller Street with ni curb, and by levelling to proper grade,. <br />25 feet from sidewalk edge to include tiling across street, from west property ' line to <br />at lowest poitnt referred to the City -Engineer for 1AYel;tlge►t!.V,. <br />Price submitted for screens at Police and Fire Alarm station at 312 <br />D. Wayne Street using copper wire cloth -two costs of paint for the sum of $26.5D <br />submitted by the Indiana Lbr. . Co. approved and -ordered. <br />Engineer submitted estimated costs which were approved by the Board. <br />Grading of alley north of North Shore Drive from Iroquois Street to <br />Lafayette Street at.,......$128.00 <br />Grade, curb and walk on Fremont Street from Elwood Avenue to -Bella <br />Street at ..... $29780.00 <br />Supt of Lights reports as follows on petition for lights. <br />Light unessential at Catalpa Avenue and Cherry Street. <br />Recommend that property owners at 1400 to 2000 block on South Scott <br />Street trim their trees. Petition denied. <br />Recommer_d the installation of a 1000 lumen incandescent lamp about the <br />center of the Court at the alley intersection of Marion Ct. and the first alley <br />west of Lafayette St. between Marion Street and Navarre Street. Petition refused <br />cannot grant alley lights. <br />Partial estimate allowed to Rocco Simeri Contr. for pipe sewer on <br />McKinley Avenue from Sunnyside Avenue to East line of lot 70 in Sunnyside Manor <br />Addition at ...... ....$3,434.52 _ <br />gzads Partial estimate allowed Williston Construction Company for <br />grade, curb and walk -ind pavement improvement on Sunnymede Avenue from Eddy Street <br />to East line of lot 295 Sunnymede Addition at....8...,$3,9©9.79 <br />
