South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting –March 5, 2010

6. NEW BUSINESS

D. Airport Economic Development Area

(3) continued…

of Fame. I don’t know how many millions of
dollars we sent to that thing. And that was
controversial. So, I hear your side of the
story. I really do because I saw some of that
as being totally unnecessary. What we have
is a pool of money and you were wonderful
beneficiaries of it the first half. But it is
going to disappear. I have
looked at the Commission’s purpose and
mission, and I wonder how we can properly
evaluate Project Impact’s performance.

Mr. Downes: I think long term we can’t.
That’s exactly the point. We’re not qualified
to judge that program.

Ms. King: Yes. And in the future we need to
ask someone who does do this all the time,
and give these funds to them to make sure
that they go to good purposes.

Mr. Inks noted that Mr. Rouse asked that his
letter be read aloud at the meeting. There
were sixteen other letters from participants in
51
