<br />Board m6t -cin 'spec lal session at 9 :O0 A.M. All numbers present,
<br />Mayor F. F. Seebirt and City Fnv,i.neer P. J. Anderson also present. This being
<br />the date set for deferred hearing on Resolution No. 4 for Grade Separation of
<br />New York Central Railroad Company.
<br />Attorney John Buczkowski appeared representing certain property owners
<br />in West part of City and requested that consideration be given to having grade
<br />separation extended west of Chapin Street. Chas. Niedbalski and Stanley Kol-
<br />kiewicz appeared in support of same proposition. Attorney John G. Yeagley
<br />appeared representing New -York Central Railroad Company.
<br />After hearing all parties present hearing was c t d Eadnesday
<br />April 2nd, 1924, at 9:00 A.M..

<br />Hearing had on Resolution No. 1321 for grading of alley sQut,h,of Haney
<br />.venue between Rush Street, and Marietta Street, Pro elrty owners a pleared
<br />remonstrating, against, the improvement., The Board, after hearing all interested,
<br />partiees present rescinded all former action of the Board on said ReSolution
<br />Mayor ELi F. Seebirt appeared and took up the matter of adopting new
<br />specifications and issuance of notices for street lighting. Mr. Charles
<br />Calvert and Mr. Thomas English of the Indiana & Michigan Electric:: Company
<br />appeared and presented matters on street lighting. The following Resolution
<br />was adopted for plans and specifications of street lighting, together with
<br />form of proposal and form df contract to be entered.into:

<br />Resolution 4opting plans and specifications for lighting:the streets,
<br />alleys, boulevards, parks and public places of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />together with form of proposal and form of contract to be entered into wiiih the
<br />successful bidder.

<br />RESOLUTION NO.
<br />RESOLVED:
<br />1. That the Board of Public WOrks in the City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />does hereby adopt the attached plans and specifications for lighting the streets,
<br />alleys, boulevards, parks and public places of the City of South Bend and the
<br />form of contract embodying the same which the Board proposes to enter into
<br />provided a satisfactory kid for said lighting is received. Copies of this
<br />resolution and of said plans and specifications shall be kept on file at the
<br />office of the Board for the use of bidders and other interested persons.
<br />2. That sealed bids or proposals for the furnishing of lamps and light
<br />and the necessary maintenance of the same for the lighting of the streets,
<br />alleys, boulevards, parks and public places in the City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />in accordance with said plans and specifications, enclosed in an envelope
<br />directed to the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, and endorsed
<br />"Proposal for Public Lighting" with the name of the persons or corporation
<br />snaking the bid, will be received by the Board of Public Works when called for
<br />during the melting of said Board of Putlie Works, to be held at its meeting
<br />place at Board of Works Office in the City Hail Building, in the City of Sou'kh
<br />Bend, at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M. on the 15th day of April, 1924, and
<br />immediately thereafter, at said time, and place and during said session of said
<br />Board of Public Works, all bids received will be publicly opened and read and the
<br />award of the contract, if awarded, will be made by resolution of the Board of
<br />Public Works as son thereafter as practicable. All bids shall be upon -the
<br />attached form prepared therefor by the Board or upon a form substantially
<br />similar thereto. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids,
<br />3. That each bidder shall file with the Board of Public Works of said.
