<br />Board met in special session at 9:00 A.M. All memberpresent.
<br />This being the date set for deferred hearong on Resolution No. 4 for
<br />Grade Separation of Yew York Central Railroad, Attorney Yeagley appeared represent-
<br />ing New York Central Railroad Company. Attorney Buezkowski appeared representing
<br />certain property owners in West Side of City. Hearing continued until Wednesday,
<br />March 26, 1924 at 9.00 A.M.
<br />MR. R. R. Smith, lVar_ager of the Chicago, South Bend �c Northern Indiana
<br />Railway Company appeared in regard to paving of Lincoln Way.E a:st.

<br />On account of large number of property owners present meeting adjourned at 7:40
<br />P.M. to Common, Cou.noil 'Pooms in City Mall, City of South Bend. City Attorney
<br />Hammond and City Engineer Anderson present.
<br />Hearing had on Resolution for Raving of Washington Avenue from Michigan
<br />Street to Lincoln lay East, and of Lincoln Way East from suuth line of Was'?irgton
<br />Avenue to the, South line of Sample Street ,
<br />No written remonstrance wa:s file4;
<br />Attorney Wi'i€arn n. Bertsch and Attorney TnomAs W. Slick appeared for
<br />certain interested parties. Among citizens present were the following:
<br />Hilton Hammond, Elmer Doddridge, Robert Donmo.yer, Fred Keller, Percy Walsh,
<br />Dr. Kilmer, Mr. Moore and Mr. Mueller.
<br />Said hearing eas continued for one week, until Wednesday, March 19, 1924,
<br />at :15 P.M.
<br />Hearin- had on Improvement Resolution No. 1292 for Rtmement on City Hall
<br />Court from Main LDtreet to second alley west of Scott Street in the City of South
<br />Bend, Indiana. ,
<br />Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and nc wrttten remonst_rrinc:e
<br />was filed., -The Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the bene-
<br />fits to property liable to be assessed for said improvament'are eoual to the esti:nat
<br />ed cost ofthe same, as reported by the City Civil ENgineer, and thereupon takes
<br />final action on said resolution as originally adopted and Lhe same is hereby in
<br />all things rasti�' .ed5 nor.firmed and approved.
<br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 27th day of March,
<br />1924 and on the 3rd day of April, 1924 in the South Bend TRIBUNE AND South Bend
<br />News Times in said City, stating that this Board trill receive bids for the con-
<br />struction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M,. on the 15th day of April, 1924.
<br />The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
<br />Hearing had on Improvement.Resolution No. 1291 for p-tvament on Fox
<br />Street from Miehiwan Street to Fellows Street, in the City of South Bend., Indiana.
<br />Upon said :nearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance
<br />was filed. The Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the bene-
<br />fits to property liable Lobe assessed for said improve -rent are equal to the estimat-
<br />ed cost of the same, as reported by tqe City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes
<br />final action on said resolution as modified to include retaining wall along
<br />Bowman Creed, and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
<br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 27th clay of March,
<br />1924 and the 3rd day of April, 1924, in the South Bend TRIBUNE AND South Bend
<br />News Times in said City stating that this Board will receive, bids for the construct-
<br />ion of said improvement up to I'0:00 A.M. on the 15th day of April, 1924. The
<br />Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
