White At-Large <br /> ABSENT: <br /> Dr. David Varner 5th District <br /> OTHERS PRESENT: <br /> Kareemah Fowler City Clerk <br /> Jennifer Coffman Chief Deputy Clerk <br /> Bianca Tirado Deputy Clerk <br /> Graham Sparks Clerk Executive Assistant <br /> Bob Palmer Council Attorney <br /> REPORT FROM THE SUB-COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br /> The Subcommittee on Minutes were not able to meet and, therefore, the minutes of the February <br /> 26th, 2018 Common Council Meeting were not approved at this meeting. <br /> SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> BILL NO. <br /> 18-08 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND <br /> COMMON COUNCIL HONORING"JT IN THE <br /> MORNING"THOMPSON ON HIS <br /> RETIREMENT FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO <br /> THE AIRWAVES IN THE SOUTH BEND AND <br /> MICHIANA AREA <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis, 1801 Nash Street, South Bend, IN, served as the presenter for this <br /> bill. Councilmember Davis stated, We are honored tonight to honor a person who I consider one <br /> (1) of the pillars of our community. His voice, we all know. Once he starts talking tonipbt,we will <br /> recognize it. It gives us peace and condolence after a loss and cheers us when we win. We are glad <br /> to honor him tonight. Councilmember Davis then read the resolution into the record. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis stated, Resolution Number 4701-18; Whereas, Jon Thompson was <br /> born in New Jersey in 1947 and grew up in the Northeastern United States, mostly in <br /> Massachusetts, listening to the Boston radio stations, especially WBZ, that inspired him to both <br /> go into broadcasting and become a Red Sox fan; and, Whereas, when Jon graduated high school <br /> 1 <br />
