<br />Bids having been received for the; pavement on Kenwood Avenue from.
<br />Olive Street to Bendix Drive. under Improvement Resolution No'.I898, the Board this
<br />3rd., day of August.,.I927, hereby makes a preliminary order for sheet asphalt as
<br />the type of pavement With which said street shall be improved and sets the I6th.,
<br />day of August, 1927, as the time when said Board.shall either act on petitions for
<br />a change of the type of pavement other than that specified in the preliminary order
<br />award the contract or reject all bids.
<br />Bids having been received for the pavement on Van Buren Street from
<br />the C. I. & S. R. R. to 8ancome Avenue under Improvement Res oluti on No.I884, the
<br />Board this 3rd., day of August, 1927, hereby makes a preliminary order for sheet
<br />asphalt as the typAue of pavement with which said street shall be improved and sets
<br />the I6th. , day of gust, I927, as the time when said Board shall either act on
<br />petitions for a change of type of pavement other than that specified in the pre•-
<br />liminary order, award the contract or reject all bids.
<br />Bids having been received for the construction of a local sewer on
<br />Miner Street from the north line of SunnysI de Addition to Harriett Street under
<br />Improvement Resolution No.I926, the Board this 3rd., day of August, 1927, hereby
<br />awards the contract for said improvement to John F. Hipskind at his low bid.

<br />Board met in regular. session at 9:30 A. M. All members present. Miss Hazel A.
<br />Turner, Clerk, absent.
<br />Minutes of meetings held August 2nd and August 3rd read and approved.
<br />j This bring the date set, continued hearing was had on the Assessment Roll
<br />Ifor the Condemnation(Easement) for the Northwest Trunk sewer, under Improvement
<br />Resolution No. 1769.
<br />Upon the request of Mr. John J. Yeagley, Attorney for the New York Central
<br />Railroad, Board continued hearing on said roll until the 23rd day of August, 1927.
<br />- City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, made a.report on the remonstrance filed
<br />against the pavement on Parry Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1897, show-
<br />ing firty resident property onn6hs ahrtht street, twenty of whom have signed the
<br />remonstrance. As this does not constitute a majority, the Board therefore sets
<br />August 23rd as the date for bids to be received for same.
<br />Board approved Excavation Bond for H. Neupert, signed by the Hartford
<br />Accident and Indemnity Company, for $1000.00
<br />Board approved request of F. E. Chaippaign, Ci ty . Eieetrician, to attend the
<br />annual meeting of the International Association of Eledtrical Inspectors, to be held
<br />September 26th to 29th.. The approximate cost of trip not to exceed 050,000
<br />The Board signed the contract with H. L. Davis & Son for Grade, Curb and
<br />{� Walk on Eckman Street from.East line of Studebaker Place Addition to East line of
<br />High Street; also, from a point 180 feet West of West -line of Dale Avenue to Miami
<br />Street, under Improvement Resol.ution.No. 1858. Board also approved the construction
<br />bond for same in the amount of $4:,120.12 signed by the Metropolitan Casualty Insur-
<br />ance Comapny.
<br />j� Board signed contract with the Rietjs Riley Construction Company for the
<br />pavement on Twenty-eighth Street from Mishawaka Avenue to Grand Trunk & Western
<br />Railroad$ under Improvement Resolution No. 1837. Board also approved construction
<br />bond for same In the amount of $12,000.00 signed by the Southern Surety Company.
<br />Board signed the contract with John F. Ilipskind for construction of a
<br />sewer on Miner Street from West line of Borth Sunnyside Addition to Harriet Street,
<br />under improvement Resolution No..1926. Board also approved construction bond for same
<br />in t��e Amount 4f $1, 030.10 siQd by the Inland Bonding Company.
