<br />2=inutes of meetings held April 5th. , and 2ipril 6th., 1927, read and approved.
<br />This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the Assessment .Roll
<br />for the Vacation of Alley under Vacation Resolution No.1763.
<br />Mr. Aaron H. Huguenard, attorney, representing William Smith, and George
<br />Omacht,'representing Yr. Miller, were present; City Attorney, I. S. Romig, was also
<br />present.
<br />Upon the recommendation of City Attorney, Mr. I. S. Romig, the Board decides
<br />to continue hearing on said roll until May IOth., 1927, at IO:DO A. I.
<br />The Board approved the following Bonds:
<br />Excavation Bond of $ ,000.00 for Frank Spitzer, signed by the American Employ-
<br />ers Insurance Co.
<br />Contractors Bond of 02,500.00 for Ralph Sollitt & Sons, signed by the
<br />Massachuetts Bonding Co.
<br />No petitions having been received for the cha.ngi4g of the type of pavement
<br />other than that specified in the preliminary order, thnd eighty percent of the
<br />property owners having signed a petition for the construction of said improvement
<br />even though the bids were in excess of 50% of the assessed valuation of the property,
<br />the Board, hereby, makes a final award for Sheet Asphalt for the pavement of Atge3la
<br />Avenue from Marquette Avenue to LaFayette Street under Improvement Resolution No.1702,
<br />and awards the contract for same to the Williston Construction Co. at their love bid
<br />of $2I,846.35. '
<br />City Engineer, Mr. F. G. .stray, filed tabulation of bids for the construction
<br />of grade, curb and walk on Jacob Street, Madison Street and Cedar and Miner Street
<br />under Improvement Resolution No.I797.

<br />Bids having been received for the construction of gradg, curb and walk on
<br />Jacob Street, Madison Street, Cedar Street and Miner Street under Improvement Resolu-
<br />tion No.I797, the Board, this I2th., day of April, 1927, hereby awards the contract
<br />for said improvement to Harry N. Barnes at his low bid, of $7,05I.55.
<br />The Board approved the dedication of any alley in the rear of Slicks Laundery
<br />1 Co., off of Lincoln 1.1aFy East. Dedications as follows:

<br />The undersigned hereby dedicates a part of Lot numbered Seventy-seven,(77)
<br />Original Plat of the town, now city of South Bend, described as follows, to wit:
<br />A strip of land I2 feet in width immediately -South of the part of said Lot
<br />conveyed to Slicks Laundering Company by deed recorded in Deed Record I55, ^page 325,
<br />of the Records of said County; also a part of Lot Numbered Seventy-seven, (77)
<br />as shown on the Original Plat of the Town, now City of South Bend; which part is
<br />bounded by a line running as follows, namely; Beginning at a point 226.55.feet
<br />• East of the West corner of said Lot; thence South 40 degrees West 16.4 feet; thence
<br />South 121 feet to a point on the Easterly line of land conveyed to Slicks Laundering
<br />Company by deed recorded in Deed record I55, page 325 of the records of St. Joseph
<br />County, which point is distant 8 feet frin the Northeast corner of the land of said
<br />Laundering Company; thence South 50 degrees East along the line of said Laundering
<br />Company's land and continuing in the same direction to the hest line of Columbia
<br />Street; thence North I8.27 feet; thence North 50 degrees West on a line parallel to
<br />the Easterly line of sadd Laundering Company's Land and 14 feet therefrom, a disiance
<br />of I37 feet; thence North I8.5 feet to Jefferson Street; thence 'Jest 3.4 feet to
<br />the place of beginning, for use as public highways and alleys.
