- ednesday evening I+.arch 2nd. , 1927. <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />concrete construction* <br />hd gravel and sand' in South Bend <br />I have obtained the prices of aatasegr <br />to ether` with the cost of bank run material: and find that by estimating, with top <br />figures, the increased cost of our different types of improvements will be as <br />follows: " <br />Pavement base 7V to 9f higher per square yard. <br />Curb 2g higher per lineal foot. <br />sidewalk I higher per square foot. <br />I am reliably informed that competion in materials may even reduce these <br />figures app'eeiablj�: Paving costs are not high -in South Bend, as compared with other <br />cities of it's size,, and I am firrrily of the opinion that any increase in cost, Cleve <br />as a result of better materials used in our concrete, will be a good investment. <br />I am vitally interested. in better improvements for South Bend and. Aob-n Oleiniczak absent. <br />Minutes of meetings held MRrch Ist., and March 2nd., I927, read and <br />i <br />approved. <br />This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the Assessment <br />Roll for the Pipe Seger on Kaley Street from a point 20 feet North of the South line <br />Addition to the center line of Sample Street under <br />of Zot I056 Summit Place, 4th., <br />Improvement Resolution ,No. 17I9. i <br />In the above matter, the Board. being fully advised in the premises, <br />finds that the several lots and parcels of land which have been assessed for said <br />improvement, have been benefited in the amounts shoiYn on said assessment roll and <br />therefore decides to sustain .all former action and declares said roll, filed F0bruary i <br />Nth., I927, in all things ratified, confirmed and app-oved and the proceedings <br />1 closed. The Board now orders said assessment roll delivered to the Department of <br />Finance. <br />City Engineer, ;y°r. H. G. 1,1ray, filed. plans and specifications and the <br />Board adopted a resolution for the construction of a sewer along Bryan. <br />Beale and <br />jRoosevelt from center line of Blaine Avenue to center line of Cushing Street; also <br />1 Rose Street from the center line of Blaine Avenue to the center line of Sherman Avenue <br />under Improvement Resolution No.I782. <br />In the above ratter, property omers having waived. all ob jeftions on and <br />in defense 'to Mny defect in said proceedings, the Board hereby-c_oi'rms said resolution <br />and received, opened and read bids on the above improvement. <br />Bids as follows: <br />
