<br />The Board met in regular session at 9 A M. All members
<br />present.
<br />Minutes of meetings held October I9th., and October 20th.,
<br />I926, read and apprcged.
<br />City Engineer, fir. H. G. 'dray,- f fled plans and specifications
<br />and the Board adopted_a resolution for the construction of a sewer on Frederickson
<br />Street and Prast Street from Johnson Street to OtBrien Street. Also O'Brien Street
<br />from Prast Street to first alley south. of Frederickson Street under Improvement
<br />Resolution Vo.I759.
<br />In "the above matter, the Board hereby orders that on the
<br />I7th. , day of November, 1926, this Board at it's office in the City Hall at 7-I5 P. M i
<br />will meet to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property will be
<br />! affebted by said improvement and will decide whether or not the lots or tracts of ;
<br />land will be benefited to the extent of the estimated cost of the. improvement, Board;,
<br />further orders that notices of said hearing be published on the 28th., dap of October;
<br />and on the 4th., day of November, 1926 in the South Bend News Times and Vribune.
<br />Board further orders that notices of said hearing be mailed to all property owners
<br />according to law.
<br />-Upon the recommendation of City Attorney, I. S. Roming, •
<br />the Board skgned a contract for the construction of a tee side track across Calvert,
<br />Bowman and Donald Streets and Ewing A*wnue between the ity and The Pennsylvania
<br />Railroad Co.
<br />Upon the recommendation of City Attorney, I. S. Romig.,
<br />the Board signed a contract for the relocation and construction of the track of the
<br />Pennsylvania Railroad Company across Chapin Street and the laying of a track from
<br />Chapin Street across Catalpa Avenue, Kemble Avenue and Prairie Avenue, between the
<br />City and The Pennsylvania Railroad Co.
<br />Both of the above contracts subject to ratification by
<br />The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana.

<br />The Board signed the following contracts and approved the
<br />II following construction bonds:
<br />Hoban & Roach for the construction of concrete pavement
<br />i on the first alley south of Jefferson Blvd., from St. Joseph Street to the alley
<br />yeast of St. Joseph <treet under Improvement Resolution Ao.I757. Construction Bond'
<br />for I001 of the contract, 627.00, signed by the American Surety co. , alsO approved.
<br />(� L. H: V`debster for the construction of a local sewer on
<br />"iagnolia Street from Indiana Avenue to a point 462 feet north of the north line �
<br />Bf Indiana Avenue under Improvement Resolution.No.I739. Construction Bond for I00%
<br />of the contract, I,023.60, signed by the Massachusetts Bonding Co., also approved.

<br />Reith Riley Construction Co., for tl^e construction of sheet
<br />asphalt pavement on Catalp Street from Calvert Street to Ewing Avenue under'Improve-
<br />went Resolution No.169I. onstruction Bond for I00'� of the contract, I3,648.76,
<br />signed by Southern Surety Co., also approved.
<br />The Board approved the drive way the corner of Michigan
<br />Street and Irvington Avenue, belonging to Ozmun A. Laven.
<br />The Board approved the drive way at the corner of
<br />Indiana hQenue and Prairie Avenue.
<br />j� The Board approved the petition of The Indiana Bell
<br />' Telephone Co., for setting 4 poles in the alley between Bendier Drive and Elliott Strut
<br />north of Humbolt Street in Lincoln Terrace. Poles to be used jointly by the Indiana
<br />Bell Telephone Co., and The Indiana & Michigan Electric Co.
<br />�i In the matter of the bids for the bavement on Angella
<br />Avenue from Lafayette Street to Yarquette Avenue, the Board hereby cl-�acid'es'. to -r:e ject
<br />said -improvement_, due to the fact that the bids received were in excess
<br />of 50 % of the assessed valuation of the property and the promoters of the improvement
<br />were unable to obtain the consent of 8@% of the property owners who were willing to
<br />have the improvement.
<br />I Upon the recommendation of City Ingineer, H.'". 111ray,
<br />the Board approved the following Partial estimates:
<br />Partial estimate No.IO for the grade, curb, walk,pavement
<br />and sewer improvement in Coquillard Yoods Addition in accordance with -the t-rms`of
<br />(� the contract between the City and The V-11liston Construction Co., under Improvement
<br />�( resolution No.I652. Board approved and signed same in the amount of 29,254.85.

<br />Partial estimate No.2 for the grade, curb, walk and
<br />pavement on Sunnyside "venue from Sunnymede Avenue to South Street in accordance with;
<br />the terms of the contract between the City and the Williston Construction Co., under
<br />Improvement Resolution No.I653. Board approved and signed same in the amount of
<br />3,699.74.
