we <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT An excavation bond in the amount of $1000.00 was received for <br />Harry Nicodemus. A continuation certificate was received for Thilman Bros,, for their <br />excavation bond. A continuation certificate for the excavation bond for Arthur V`d. <br />Deppert was.receive.d. These bonds and certificates were approved and ordered filed.' <br />Grades. were established on the alley south of Jennings St., from Main St. to Michig n <br />St., also on the alley West of Michigan St., from Dean St. to Jennings ;St. <br />The Board approved the plan for a 16' driveway for the new Kroger Store on the North <br />East corner of Indiana Ave., and Michigan -St. This drivel -is on Indiana Ave., adjacent t <br />the alley East of Michigan St. <br />ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that a 4000 lumen <br />light be installed at the entrance to the Studebaker Plant on Eckman St., and that the <br />City Engineer contact the Pennsylvania Railroad, relative to the installation of a <br />4000 lumen light at their crossing at Eckman St. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Tony Zmuda nski, Street Commissioner was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />The Engineering Department and the Street Department submitted specifications for <br />the purchase of one power driven grader for use in the Street Department. The specifi- <br />cations are now approved and adopted by the Board. The Clerk is now instructed to <br />advertise for bids in the Mirror and the South Bend Tribune on December 27, 1940 and Jan <br />uary 3rd, 1941. Bids to be received on January 13th, 1941. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting, adjourned at <br />12:10 P.
