Zmudzinski was present and matters pertaining to his department <br />were discussed. Mr. Zmudzinski was authorized to purchase fifty (50) tons of mixed <br />aggregate for cold patch work and to store it in the Street Department garage. He was <br />also authorized to order two tons of broom fibre, two tons of steel wire for curb brooms <br />three sets of blades for the Diesel Grader and three sets of blades for the Galion grade <br />at current prices for use in 1940. <br />Mr. Zmudzinski reported the sale of some junk for the amount of $4.00 which was <br />turned over to the Clerk of the Board. <br />The Street Commissioner reported that the Studebaker truck that was wrecked would <br />require $146.25 in material cost and $100.20 in labor cost to place it in operating con <br />dition. The Board delayed action until further investigation could be made. <br />The Street Commissioner was authorized to repair and paint the interier of the ba <br />at the Isolation Hospital and make arrangements to move the Dog Pound equipment into t <br />barn after it is repaired. <br />The Street Comissioner reported that the hazardous condition existing on South <br />LaFayette Street in front of the former Russ BLieing Company had been repaired. <br />.ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The City Engineer reported that the walk in front of ClarkIs <br />Restaurant HaTFeen re -inspected and a recommendation made that temporary repairs be <br />made to eliminate hazards this winter. <br />A letter was received from Otto L. Engstrom of 932 S. 27th Street regarding the <br />condition .of the sidewalk on the east side of 27th Street between Mishawaka Avenue and <br />Nuner School and was referred to the Engineering Department for investigation. <br />The following contractor's bonds were approved: Sylvester Queer, Philip Melling <br />Nelson McIntyre, and Ralph R.
