The Street Department, however, is <br />qualified to grade the alley and put it in such an improved condition as will <br />satisfy equally well all taxpayers along either side of the alley." <br />. Therefore, the recommendation of the Board is that the alley be graded, keeping in <br />mind the conveniences to all taxpayers concerned. <br />The Street Commissioner was authorized to purchase 800 ft. of flexible cable at 72 <br />and was authorized to have truck tires re -capped. Mr. Zmudzinski was requested to get <br />bids from several companies on their 15-plate heavy duty truck batteries. <br />Mr. Zmudzinski reported receipt of t32.00 from the sale of scrap iron and it was <br />turned over to the Clerk of the Board. <br />Mr. Zmudzinski reported that t4e Portage Avenue viaduct was in a bad condition and <br />the Engineer was instructed to make a thorough investigation of the bridge. <br />Continuation certificate on Contractor's bond of Charles W.
