MEETING--APRIL 100• 1939 <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: <br />Mr. Zinudzinski was present and clatters pertaining to his department were dis- <br />cussed. <br />`/Gordon D. Keller of 1026 Emerson Avenue reported to the Board that the property <br />west of his residence is being used as a dumping ground. He requested that something <br />be done to discontinue this practise. The Clerk of the Board was instructed to notify <br />the Street Departs, ent and the Chief of Police. <br />Excavation bond in favor of P,lel. S. Nienier was approved by the Board. <br />Meeting adjourned at 11: 00 A. r:4 <br />i1 <br />CLERK <br />APRIL 10, 1939 <br />i <br />i <br />i <br />E <br />I <br />BOARD O UBLIC °+ORiiS <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, April 10, 1939, <br />at 9:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and <br />approved. Payrolls of the various derartments in the amount of 15,860.39 and claims i <br />the amount of �17.00 of the following suppliers were approved and ordered paid: <br />Edwin J. Stachowski <br />815.00 Janes P. Conboy <br />$2.00 <br />The Westinghouse larlp contract with 1,TcCaffer�T Company, Inc. was returned fully <br />signed. This contract is on file in the office of the Board. <br />CE1.1ET/ERY DE1DJURT1,M1'T : <br />The Engineer was authorized to investigate the Dossibility of procuring a VJPA <br />project for painting the cemetery fence with NFA paying for the cost of paint estimate <br />by the OtBrien Varn:i_sh Com-oany and submitted to the Board previously. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: <br />Mr. Zmudzinski was present and matters pertaining to his department were dis- <br />cussed. Mr. Zmudzinski reported to the Board_ that "No Dunning" signs had been erected <br />on the -property which had been called to his attention. <br />v Deln1i tt Ingleright appeared before the 3oard and requested a re -spread of delin- <br />quent assessment&.on Lot 2 in Tuxedo Park First Addition. In the opinion of the City <br />Attorney no legal`-eans are available for distribution of assessments against property <br />on whch the assessments have become delinquent. <br />Mr. L. Harmon appeared before the Bo rd regarding a complaint he had filed pre- <br />viously against the city.. -for damages incurred to his car by a manhole cover on South <br />Main Street. The ratter was referred to the City Attorney for further consideration. <br />'Mr. William Busse of the K-reamo Ba?_ery appeared and requested rermission to erect <br />a flagpole in front of the ba1_er-7 between the sidewalk and curb. Permission was not <br />granted. He was advised to place the pole within his own property line or on the roof <br />of the building. 1 <br />/A petition was received from forty -sip citizens reauestin;� the erection of a stree <br />light over the railroad crossing at Longley Avenue, between College and Brookfield <br />Streets. The matter was referred to the Electrical Department. <br />V A hearing of interested parties was had relative to the changing of the Bendix <br />busline from Linden Avenue to Washington Street. inasmuch as the Board received an <br />additional petition recuesting that this change be not made, the matter was tabled for <br />future consideration. <br />/Continuation certificate covering contractor's bond in favor of Frank Sailer <br />was approved by the Board. <br />J Upon motion dull,= made and unanimously carried, the -Board approved a contract with <br />the White Consolidated, ino. for the rental of one Rex 27E concrete mixer at the rental <br />of A200.00 per month, which contract is as follows: <br />Agreeraent No. 2 <br />Order No. <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIAIvA <br />EQUiP�RIIENT RENTAL AGREEMENT <br />f <br />• <br />is <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />
