0 .0 0 0 L� 4� MEETING, JANUARY 23, 1939--JANU1iRY 30, 1939 Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, January 23, 1 39, at 9:15 A.M. All members were present. Mlinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Claims for payroll in the amount of d�473.50 and of McClave Printing Company in the amount of 015.50 were approved and ordered paid. This beng the date set for hear Ing of final assess;r�ent roll on Vacation Resolution No. 2499, which has to do with the vacation of Wayne Street from St. Louis Blvd. West and also alleys in Howard Pare w1nich had not been' previously vacated, and no remonstranc's having been filed and no one having appeared in opposition to said assessment roll, said, assessment roll is now approved and conf irnied and damages and benefits are finally r assessed as stated therein. ✓1,1r. Zrnudzinski, the Street Coinmissioner, was present and discussed with the Board the possibility of purchasI_ng pushcarts for the pur-pose of cleaning streets. He was advised by the Board to ascertain prices on these carts. in:C'. Z rudz inski filed an in- ventory of all tool equipment in his department as of January 16, 1939, as had been previously requested by the Board. /Mr. Qualls was present and discussed the lighting situation in the underpass at Western and Walnut Streets. He said these lighter are regulated by an electrically con- trolled clock which furnishes power at that point from oyli� hOlir after§un,set and Until one hour before unrise. These lights are tied in witht ere general lighting system. /lilt. McNabb, City Cerletery Sexton, was present and was authorizes= to investiL;ate grave ten7:-, size 14x21 and to purchase covering from such the prices of covering a dealer as can furnish the best price, taking into consideration quality and material. Williams filed primary assessment- roll, showing awards and damages and assessment of benefits in the natter of Vacation of Alley South of Oakside Street from High Street to the North and South Centerline of the East ' of Sectuon 24, Town- ship 37 North, range 2 East.
