422 <br />-'Regular meeting of the Board of Public 4orks was held on Tuesday, Dec. 27th, et <br />to:oo A. M. All members were present. Mr. George Beamer and Mr. Harry Driggs were present. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Inc. <br />4.67 <br />This being the date set -for hearing of Vacation Resolutions No. 2.491, 2492, and <br />2493, same being Vacation of an alley south of Oakside Street, Vacation of an alley - <br />south of Eckman Street and Alley East of Erskine Blvd, and Vacation of an alley south <br />of Irvington Avenue and Alley East of Erskine Blvd ,respectively. There, being no remon- <br />strances and no remonstrances being filed, these Resolutions were approved by the Board <br />and ordered referred to the Engineering Department for. the purpose of_ compiling assess- <br />ment roll showing benefits and damages. Mr. C. A. Perkins was present. <br />`./The matter of purchasing new city scales was discussed, revised bids having been <br />received from The Howe Scale Company and The Fairbanks -Morse Co., and it was decided <br />by the hoard that Mr. Burns, City Sealer, will be authorized to purchase new scales if <br />the hew -Board recommends that they be purchased with the understanding by the Sealer <br />that 'he material cannot be paid for until 1940. <br />Continuation:: Certi�fi.cat,es_.on. IExcavation' Bonds- of Arthur- V : Meyeru and: Willitm H. <br />Burke were, received, and approved by the Board. <br />VThe matter of purchasing new traffic signals to replace the over -head signals <br />now in use was discussed with Mr. John Gibbons, Secy. of Safety Division of the <br />Association of Commerce, and it was decided by the Board that. -Mr. Qualls, Electrical <br />Superintendent, will be authorized to purchase new signals if the new Board recommends <br />that they be purchased with the understanding by the Superintendent and the seller <br />that the material cannot be paid for until 1940. <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:50 A.
