All members were present. j <br />Minutes of the previots meeting were read and approved. Qualls submitted a report of the result of his investigation of a pet- � <br />ition for the re-establishment of a. light on post No. 944 on Riverside Drive, and u <br />recommended that this petition be not granted. The Board concurred in this report <br />and the petition is filed in the office of the Board of Public Works. <br />,1 <br />✓Mr. Qualls submitted the result of his investigation of a petition for the erec- <br />tion of a street light at 33rd and mall Street and recommended that a 1000 lumen light <br />be installed at a cost of $19.80 per year. The Board concurred in this report and re- <br />quested Mr. Qualls to instruct the Indiana Michigan Electric Company to make the in- <br />stallation at the earliest possible moment. !! <br />u <br />✓ Mr. Qualls reported upon the petition for a street light at.the corner of Dunham <br />and Camden Streets and after a thorough investigation recommended that the petition <br />be not granted. The Board concurred.in this report and the petitioners were so noti- <br />fied. <br />A petition was presented by property owners on E. Paris Street, askt <br />as -king for e, <br />turning of brick on said street and repairing old sewer outlets and installing new <br />ones where necessary. This petition was referred to the Street Department for atten- <br />tion. II <br />Mr. Longenecker submitted his report of activities of the Cemetery Department for �! <br />the month of July, showing receipt of $504.509 of which $352.00 is for perpetual care. <br />it <br />The Chamberlain Metal Vjeather Strip Company submitted a quotation for calking the <br />entire perimeter of all frames in masonry work at Fire Station No. 8. A price of <br />$35.00 was quoted. The Board approved this and ordered the work done. <br />i <br />.11 <br />✓ It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the City Engineer be auth- <br />orized to purchase sewer pipe for a WPA project to lay sewer on Washington Street from <br />Taylor Street to Scott Street. <br />�A communication was received from Vera Benson, asking for the installation of a <br />street light on Mishawaka Avenue and Wall Street, also to grade alley west of 27th <br />Street. These matters were taken up with the various Departments for investigation. I <br />Mr. F. J.
