382 <br />MEETING July 5, 1938 <br />Regular meeting of the Board <br />of Public <br />Works was held at 10:30"A. <br />M. on Tuesday, <br />July 5. All members were present. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Claims in <br />the amount of <br />-02828.38 were approved and ordered paid: <br />%Allied. Armstrop:g <br />8.00 <br />Bogda Chevrolet Company <br />1.50 <br />Gafill Oil Company <br />7.55 <br />-"This being the date set for continued hearing on Condemnation Resolution No.2496 <br />the Board upon regular motion seconded and carried, confirmed the resolution and the <br />Engineering Department was instructed to prepare roll of assessments and damages to <br />be submitted to the Board at an early future meeting. Present at the hearing were <br />Jerry Sochowski representing Notre Dame and Mr. Thomas L. Hickey and Mr. James I. Bol- <br />and all of whom were in favor of the Condemnation. <br />fA meeting was held with representatives of the scuthwest side of the City and Mr. <br />R. R. Smith of the Northern Indiana Railway Company with reference to a change ,in bus <br />line operation on South Kemble.S.treet.- It was decided that Mr. Smith be given an oppor- <br />tunity to analyze.th e situation and that a continued hearing in this matter be held on <br />Mon day, July 18. <br />/A delegation of Street Department employees was present at the meeting in reference <br />to vacations of employees, and after a full discussion a decision in regard to the mat -- <br />ter was postponed subject to call of Mr. Anderson. <br />�Mr. Weer was authorized to purchase one new tar kettle for use in connection with <br />W. P. A. work. <br />�A communication was received from the Indiana Michigan Electric Company asking <br />permission to install underground conduit lines and manholes on Western Avenue and Kos- <br />ciuszko Street in line with their drawing No. 138-123. Mr. Qualls recommended that <br />the p tition be granted and upon regular motion seconded and carried thie was done. <br />Continuation.Certificate covering Contractor's Bond in favor of H.-G.--Christman <br />ConstructimnCo. was approved by the Board.. <br />1/Contractor's Bond in the amount of $1000 in the American Bonding Company of Balti- <br />more -in favor of Bob Morgan, Mishawaka, was approved and placed on file. <br />�A communication was received from the Twyckenham La4d.and Investment Company asking <br />that a re-speead of assessments be made up against the east half of Lot # 105 and 106 <br />in Rkgedale Fourth Addition. This request being contrary to the Acts of 1915 on page <br />676, the Board ordered that the Twyckenham Land and Investment Company be so notified, <br />whi ch was done. <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:30 A.
