All members were present. <br />Minutes of the previous meet 3g were read and approved. Claims from the following <br />suppliers in the amount of $1267.96 were approved and ordered paid. Carroll Broom <br />7.50 <br />VMr. beer brought up the question of improvement of Ironwood Drive from Calvert <br />Street to the railroad, he having had a number of requests from residents in that <br />vicinity. It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that Mr. uueer and Mr. And.erso <br />consult with the City Engineer and Street Commissioner of Mishawaka with a view to <br />cooperating in the improvement and to bring in a report at the next meeting of the <br />Board <br />Mr. Kenney of the State Highway Department was present and discussed with the <br />Board the matter of cleaning streets on the State Highways and requested that a n_ro- <br />posal be submitted to them for the flushing of City streets upon -which the State <br />Highways occur. Mr. Weer was asked to make up such an estimate for further considera <br />tion. <br />✓Mr. Ernest Tramberg, at the suggestion of Mr. Weer, was allowed 10 gallons of gas <br />per week to be used in carrying on his duties for the City. <br />Proposals were received from the Indiana Lumber IvianufacturingCompany, �J90.00, <br />and from the Michigan Avenue Lumber Company of 4129.26 for the repair of wind.0ws and <br />sash at No. 5 Hose House and it was regularly moved and seconded and carried that the <br />order be placed with the Michigan Avenue Lumber Company. <br />✓Excavation Bond in favor of the O'Brien Varnish Company in the indemnity Insurance <br />Company of North America was approved by the Board and Lxcavation Bond in favor of <br />Kenneth Allen in the national Casualty Company was approved by the Board. <br />✓A, petition signed by 20 residents in the vicinity of Harvey and Blaine Avonues <br />requested the erection of a street light in that location. The matter was referred to <br />Mr. Qualls for investigation and report. <br />/Mrs. C. E. Snoke, 1301 Belmont, requested that a street light be installed Gt her <br />driveway. This matter was referred to Mr. (wails for investigation and report. <br />11A complaint was received that shrubbery is permitted to grow between curb and side <br />walk in front of 842 34th Street and requested that action be taken to have this remov <br />ed or trimmed. The matter was referred to Traffic Engineer hiller. <br />Mr. Moomaw presented a request from the owner of property &t 427 Lincoln � ay East <br />asking that fire restrictions in that location be waived to give them an opportunity <br />to improve the property. After fully considerng the matter, the Board decided to give <br />this permission. <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:15 A.
