All members were present. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br />Claims, from the following suppliers, in the amount of $8,947.96 were approved <br />and ordered paid. <br />Indiana & Mich. Shambleau presented a request for re -lighting of ;street light in <br />the vicinity of 1215 East Wayne Street, North. This matter was -referred to <br />Mr. Qualls for investigation and recommendation. <br />J - <br />A petition signed by fifteen residents in the vicinity of Donmoyer and Fellows <br />- <br />Streets was received, requesting that a street light be erected at this intersection <br />and calling attention to four lights in other vicinities which might be,turned out <br />without inconvenience. This matter was referred to Mr. Qualls for investigation <br />and recommendation. <br />J <br />A petition signed by approximately forty residents, requesting a -street light <br />at the corner Q:f Ewing Avenue and Franklin Street was received by the Board and <br />referred to Mr.�Qualls for investigation and recommendation. <br />JA petition was submitted, signed by thirty residents, requesting installation <br />of a street light at..the intersection of Corby and Jacob Streets. The matter was <br />referred to Mr. Qualls for investigation and recommendation. <br />�Mr. Qualls reported in reference to re -lighting of a street lamp opposite <br />1621 Miami Street, stating,that this is not recommended, as that particular location <br />is lighted quite as well as most locations in the City and there are many other <br />districts which need lights much worse than this one. The Board concurred in <br />Mr. Qualls report and the request was ordered placed on file and the petitioner <br />was given a copy of Mr. Qualls letter. <br />VMr. Qualls reported upon request for a street light on North Johnson Street <br />in the vicinity of Bulla Street, stating that there is no question but what this <br />vicinity was in dire need of additional light and recommended that one be installed. <br />The Board, therefore, authorized the installation of a 1000 lumen street light at <br />a cost of $19.80 per year, and Mr. Qualls was requested to notify the Indiana & <br />Michigan Electric Company accordingly. <br />'Mr. Weer submitted his report of the work of the Street Department during the <br />month of October, which report is on file in the office of the Board of Public <br />Works and a copy furnished to each member of the Board. <br />✓Excavation bond in favor of Platz & Gill in the Western Casualty & Surety <br />Company was approved. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:30 A.
