M. Mr. Woodward was absent. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br />Claims, from the following suppliers, in the amount of $4,'672.22 were approved <br />and ordered paid. <br />Indiana & Mich. This report is on file in the office of the Board of Public Works. <br />V A petition signed by five property owners, requesting that a local sewer be <br />installed in Pulaski Street from West Indiana Avenue to the railroad, was received. <br />The Board decided to withhold consideration of this petition for two weeks. <br />• <br />Surety bond of contractor was approved in favor of Mauro Siste in the National <br />�! <br />Casualty Company. <br />JCommunieation was received from the South Bend Bait Company requesting that <br />the Board consider constructing sidewalk the entire length of the 1900 black on <br />McKinley Avenue where the McKinley School is located. After considering this <br />matter, the Board instructed the Clerk to communicate with h1r. Ed Smith, Super- <br />intendent of School Buildings, to ascertain if they would be interested in <br />furnishing the material, in which event the Street Department would lay the walk <br />and furnish the labor. <br />The question of collection of sewer flushing charges was brought up and <br />discussed with Mr. Weer. It was decided that on all requests for flushing <br />Mr. I'"jeer attempt to collect the charge in advance or at the time the work is done <br />and that in all such cases where collections are not possible at the time of doing <br />the work the Clerk shall send statements and endeavor to collect by mail, and <br />after a reasonable effort in this manner the account is not collectible, charges <br />I shall be cancelled. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:45 A.
