Lauber & Company 44.40 Perkins Bros. <br />2.00 <br />Sibley Mach & Foundry Corp. .28 The Office Engineers, Inc. <br />2.70 <br />✓ <br />A petition signed by thirty-six residents and property owners on West <br />LaSalle <br />Avenue was presented, requesting the discontinuance of the running of the <br />South Shore <br />Company heavy locomotives over the tracks on West LaSalle Avenue beyond Laporte <br />Avenue. The Board ordered that the South Shore Company be notified they are <br />violating franchise and that this practice must be stopped at once. <br />f Communication was received from the Northern Indiana Railway, Inc. in <br />reference <br />to petition that the present bus service on Portage Avenue be extended from its <br />present termination to the entrances of Riverview and Highland Cemeteries. <br />They <br />stated they are giving the matter consideration and after a survey is completed <br />will <br />take the matter up further with the Board. A copy of this letter was ordered <br />sent <br />to the petitioner whose name appeared first on the list. <br />✓ A petition signed by all the property owners on the south side of Western Avenue <br />in the one-half block extending westward from the New Jersey Railroad right-of-way to <br />Kosciuszko Street, was received in which they asked to vacate to them as the abutting <br />property owners the triangular tract of land between their properties end Western <br />Avenue. Upon regular motion, seconded and carried, this petition was referred to <br />the Engineering Department to draw up Resolution. <br />J <br />Mr. Weer submitted his report of activities of the Street and Sewer Departments <br />for the month of July, a copy of which was furnished each member of the Board and <br />one placed on file in the office of the Board of Public Works. <br />A request was made by Mr. Lew Fleming for street light at Colfax Avenue and <br />Esther Street. The matter was referred to the Electrical Department for Mr. Qualls' <br />investigation and report to the Board. <br />J Revised plat of Walnut Park was considered by the Board and approved. <br />The Ohio Oil Company submitted blue prints for Filling Station at the corner <br />of Williams and Marion Streets. Upon recommendation of Mr. Anderson, City Civil <br />Engineer, the.Board approved same. <br />✓ Some property owners on Grant Street appeared before the Board and requested <br />that a sewer be constructed on Grant Street from Prairie Avenue to Indiana.
